This is where it all began…
This is the album that first got me interested in hard rock/heavy metal…when I was 5!
I remember my brother bringing this home on vinyl in 1975 and he let me look at it for a little bit. I’m pretty sure he borrowed it from TR or Scotty from across the street. I know he didn’t buy it as money was always pretty tight. I asked him why they looked liked clowns all dressed up. I think he said something like, “Just shut up and listen to it.” So i did.
Wow. What was this? I never heard anything like this on AM radio. I was hooked. Of course at that age I didn’t understand much of what they were talking about but I loved it. Learned every word as best as I could.
While this isn’t anywhere near my favorite KISS album, it is definitely the one that made me a hard rocker. My faves on here include Room Service, Rock Bottom, She and C’mon and Love Me. I never did like Rock And Roll All Night. Blech!
So there it is. Blame KISS.

good post!
KISS got me in grade school.
I have some old pics when I was even 5-7 listening to their 8 tracks on my fathers stereo system with some big-ass OLD school headphones!
I looked like I was a piloting a small plane while listening!
